THE CW NETWORK LOCKS IN MIDSEASON SCHEDULE WITH NEW EPISODES AND NEW TIME PERIODS

The CW Network has set its new midseason schedule, featuring brand new episodes of its scripted series and several strategic moves to bolster new nights and new time periods.

New episodes of freshman sensation GOSSIP GIRL return to The CW schedule beginning Monday, April 21 (8:00-9:00p.m. ET). On April 7, ONE TREE HILL moves to its new night and time on Mondays (9:00-10:00p.m. ET), following GOSSIP GIRL and creating a powerful night of drama for The CW.

With ONE TREE HILL moving to Mondays in April, the climactic final original episodes of PUSSYCAT DOLLS PRESENTS: GIRLICIOUS will air on Wednesdays starting April 9 (9:00-10:00p.m. ET), following AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

Through the month of March, original episodes of The CW’s REAPER will follow all-new episodes of SMALLVILLE. On March 25, REAPER returns to Tuesdays (9:00-10:00p.m. ET) following the newest edition of The CW’s hit reality series BEAUTY AND THE GEEK, which premieres March 11 (8:00-9:00p.m. ET).

SUPERNATURAL returns to The CW’s Thursday line-up (9:00-10:00p.m. ET) on April 3.

With new episodes of EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS (8:00-8:30p.m. ET) and ALIENS IN AMERICA (8:30-9:00p.m. ET) currently airing on Sundays, original episodes of THE GAME return to The CW’s comedy block in its new time period beginning Sunday, March 23 (9:00-9:30p.m. ET).

THE CW ANNOUNCES EARLY PICKUPS OF SERIES

The CW announced early pickups of six series today, including the network’s signature reality hit, AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, four dramas and one comedy. All six series will return for the fall season.

The network’s most popular series, AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL will return with mega-star Tyra Banks for cycles 11 and 12. Returning dramas include the buzz-worthy freshman hit GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL, returning for a sixth season. These three series are the top-ranked shows on television with a concentration of women 18-34 viewers.

Also renewed were the long-running Thursday night team of SMALLVILLE, which will begin its eighth season, and SUPERNATURAL, which will begin its fourth season. In addition, the critically acclaimed comedy EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS will return for season four.

Fans of Smallville are now able to enter to become the Vlogger of the Month. In association with Sprint, cwtv.com is asking Smallville fans to submit a video blog, or Vlog, discussing any Smallville episode.

The chosen winner will be appointed Vlogger of the Month, and once a week will have his or her Vlog featured online. The Vlogger of the Month will be have the chance to express their opinions on Smallville, respond to questions from other fans, and get a taste of online stardom.

STARS OF THE CW VISIT SAN DIEGO COMIC CON

CAST MEMBERS OF REAPER, SMALLVILLE, AND SUPERNATURAL DISCUSS THE NEW SEASONS OF THEIR SHOWS

Comic Con International, the world’s largest comic book convention, was held this July in San Diego, and the stars of The CW were on hand to meet the fans, represent their shows, and talk about what’s in store for the new season.

Missy PeregrymDirector Kevin Smith, who helmed the pilot of Reaper, led a panel discussion and a screening of the show. The CW’s new series follows a young man who discovers that his parents made a deal with the devil, and that he must now serve as Satan’s bounty hunter, tracking down souls that have escaped from hell. Star Missy Peregrym was also in San Diego to offer her take on the show, and Ray Wise explained why he calls Reaper a horro-thrillo-rademy. Erica Durance attended Comic Con to talk about the coming season of Smallville and the future of her character Lois Lane, which includes a position at a certain Metropolis newspaper. Durance’s new co-star Laura Vandervoort joins the cast this season as Clark Kent’s Kryptonian cousin Kara, better known as Supergirl. Supernatural Executive Producer Eric Kripke visited San Diego and promised that Season Three of his series would be the “biggest and most thrilling season yet,” while star Jensen Ackles discussed how his character will be affected by the deadly deal he made at the end of last season. SUPERGIRL FLIES INTO SMALLVILLE IN FALL 2007

Look, up in the sky: it’s a bird, it’s a plane! It’s…Supergirl! This fall, Supergirl will be joining the lineup of burgeoning superheroes and villains in SMALLVILLE. Supergirl is the latest DC Comics character to join the series that has previously welcomed Martian Manhunter, The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Brainiac.

Laura Vandervoort (The Lookout, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) has been cast as Kara – Clark’s (Tom Welling)
19-year-old cousin.

On SMALLVILLE, the seventh season premiere kicks off with the arrival of Supergirl. She was born on Krypton and is the daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El’s brother. Kara possesses all of Clark’s powers and one he doesn’t yet have – she can fly! Kara also has a strong, rebellious streak that puts her at odds with Clark, and puts her onto Lex’s (Michael Rosenbaum) radar. In addition, she takes a romantic interest in Jimmy Olsen (Aaron Ashmore).

Al Gough and Miles Millar serve as executive producers, along with Ken Horton, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions, Millar/Gough Ink and Warner Bros. Television. SUPERMAN was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster.
