CAST MEMBERS FROM THE CW’s NEW TELEVISION SERIES “THE CARRIE DIARIES
help out fellow new yorkers by serving hot meals in the Rockaways

In an effort to help their fellow New Yorkers, cast members from “The Carrie Diaries” – a “Made in NY” television series that premieres Monday, January 14 at 8/7c on The CW – were on hand to help residents affected by Hurricane Sandy in the Rockaways on Saturday, December 8.

The Carrie Diaries” cast members Matt Letscher, Freema Agyeman, Brendan Dooling and Stefania Owen helped serve hot meals to approximately 150 New Yorkers, with food donated by Warner Bros. Television, which produces the new one-hour drama. This is the latest of many efforts by the entertainment industry to lend its support to the City since the storm hit.

The Carrie Diaries” stars AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw, an inquisitive and thoughtful teen coming of age in the suburbs, who is beckoned by the glamorous and gritty distant Manhattan as she maneuvers high school and asks her first questions about sex, love and loss. Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell and featuring a bright young cast, “The Carrie Diaries” — a one-hour drama from “Sex and the City” writer/co-producer Amy B. Harris and “Gossip Girl” executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage — is the origin story of how Carrie Bradshaw became Carrie Bradshaw.  The series premieres Monday, January 14 at 8/7c on The CW.

● The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment has reached out to the production industry regarding volunteer efforts and received an overwhelming response

● In the days immediately following the storm, more than 70 volunteers from “Made in NY” productions came out to volunteer at food and water distribution sites.

● Productions and industry-related businesses have also donated their time and resources in a variety of different ways since the storm hit New York City.

● The film and television production industry employs over 130,000 New Yorkers and contributed $7.1 billion to the City’s economy last year.

The CW today announced the series premiere of the mind-bending, suspenseful new drama CULT on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 (9:00-10:00p.m. ET).

Investigative journalist Jeff Sefton has learned to laugh off his younger brother Nate’s relentless string of obsessions, especially his latest rant that a hit TV show intends to harm him.  However, when his brother mysteriously disappears, Jeff takes Nate’s paranoia seriously, and in the process uncovers the dark underworld of the TV series “Cult” and its rabid fans, who are obsessed with the show’s charismatic cult leader, Billy Grimm.  As the show’s gruesome plot twists begin to play out in the real world, Jeff enlists the help of a young research assistant Skye in a race to save Nate and unravel the mystery behind the TV series whose hardcore fans would literally kill to see what happens next…

November 9, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW picked up a full season of its freshman hit drama BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST stars Kristin Kreuk (“Smallville,” “Chuck”) as Catherine, Jay Ryan (“Terra Nova”) as Vincent, Max Brown (“The Tudors,” “MI-5”) as Evan, Nina Lisandrello (“Nurse Jackie”) as Tess, Nicole Gale Anderson (“Make It or Break It”) as Heather, Austin Basis (“Life Unexpected”) as J.T., and Brian White (“The Shield,” “The Cabin in the Woods”) as Joe.

Last night’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was up 9% in total viewers versus last week, and also grew in all key adult demos week to week. Season to date, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is averaging 2.4 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among women 18-34, and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-34, in most current Nielsen data.

November 8, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW today announced that the new 1980s-era drama, THE CARRIE DIARIES, will have its series premiere on Monday, January 14 (8:00-9:00p.m. ET).

That same night, 90210 will slide to its new 9:00-10:00 p.m. timeslot on Monday.  The week of January 14 will also see the majority of The CW’s primetime series return from the holiday break with all-new original episodes.

THE CARRIE DIARIES takes place in 1984, where life is not easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw.  Since their mother passed away, Carrie’s younger sister Dorrit is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own.  Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse, sarcastic and self-assured Maggie and sensitive Walt – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles.  And even though the arrival of a sexy new transfer student named Sebastian brings some excitement to Carrie’s world, she is struggling to move on from her grief.  So when Tom offers Carrie the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan, she leaps at the chance.  Carrie’s eyes are opened wide at the glamour and grit of New York City – and when she meets Larissa, the style editor for Interview magazine, she’s inspired by the club culture and unique individuals that make up Larissa’s world.  Carrie’s friends and family may have a big place in her heart, but she’s fallen in love for the first time with the most important man in her life – Manhattan.
