THE CW ORDERS NEW SEASONS OF “OH SIT!” AND “BREAKING POINTE”

September 26, 2012 (Burbank, California) — The CW Network has ordered new seasons for two of its new reality series, including the amped-up musical chairs competition OH SIT! and the compelling docu-series set in the world of ballet BREAKING POINTE, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.  Premiere dates will be announced at a later time.

OH SIT! pits 12 thrill-seeking daredevils head to head, racing through five physically demanding, obstacle course-style eliminations, as they compete to claim a chair, to the sounds of a live band and guest musical artists.  At the end of the hour, only one contestant will be left sitting triumphant to seize the cash prize.  OH SIT! is created and executive produced by Phil Gurin (“The Singing Bee,” “Shark Tank,” “Weakest Link”), Richard Joel and Deena Dill.  The series is from The Gurin Company and 405 Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television.

BREAKING POINTE goes behind the stage curtain for an intense, unfiltered look at one of the most competitive ballet companies in the country, Ballet West, in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Featuring beautiful and striking on-stage performances, and the arduous journey to the titles of Prima Ballerina and her male counterpart Premier Danseur, BREAKING POINTE leaves no bun undone.  Viewers follow these young women and men, as they navigate life, working to find a perfect balance between their personal relationships and their unrelenting desire to be the absolute best ballet dancers in the world.  Beneath the beauty and glamour of the dance and costumes is a gritty dog-eat-dog world of extreme athleticism, focus, dedication, passion, pressure and, of course, the hunt for the unattainable…perfection.  BREAKING POINTE is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions.  Executive producers for BBC Worldwide Productions are Izzie Pick Ashcroft (“Dancing with the Stars”) and Jane Tranter (“Top Gear,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Torchwood”).

BURBANK, Calif. (September 25, 2012) — From London, England, to BlueBell, Alabama, Olympic athlete McKayla Maroney’s fast-moving career is nothing to sneer at. The petite gymnast — a member of the gold medal–winning U.S. team in the 2012 Summer Olympics — will guest star in an upcoming episode of Hart of Dixie, the fish-out-of-water comedic drama about small-town living, big-city attitudes and complicated love triangles starring Rachel Bilson.

In the episode, Maroney will guest star as Tonya, a friend of Rose’s (played by recurring guest star McKaley Miller), who comes to Rose’s defense. Sounds like a winning role!

THE WINNER OF THE CW’S “THE NEXT” TO EARN RECORDING CONTRACT WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS

The CW to Broadcast the Final 3 Episodes Live as Viewers Get to Vote
for THE NEXT via Online and Social Media

Songs Performed on THE NEXT Available for Digital Download Following Each Episode

July 30, 2012 (Beverly Hills, CA) – As the competition heats up and with an Atlantic Records recording contract awaiting the winner, The CW will broadcast the final three episodes of its new music competition series THE NEXT live from Los Angeles on Thursday, Sept. 27 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), Tuesday, Oct. 2 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), and the special two-hour finale on Thursday, Oct. 4 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET).  During these live performance episodes, viewers will be able to vote online and through social media for their favorites, narrowing the field until one is chosen as The Next.

Premiering Thursday, Aug. 16 (9:00-10:00 p.m.), THE NEXT travels to cities across the country, including Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, Los Angeles, and New York, searching for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom.  The finalists from the local cities will then converge on Los Angeles to compete for the grand prize over the final live episodes.  Following every episode, the songs performed by the competitors will be available for download on all digital service providers (DSPs), including iTunes and Cricket’s Muve Music.

In each episode of THE NEXT, four music industry superstars — pop icon Gloria Estefan, country star John Rich, hip-hop star Nelly, and pop star and actor Joe Jonas — will drop in on the lives of four up-and-coming local singers in each city and have 72 hours to get them ready for a head-to-head singing competition at a well-known local venue.  After performing in front of an audience filled with friends, family, local music fans and the four icons, one winner will be chosen to move on to represent their city in the semi-finals.  Then it’s on to the next city and four more contestants.

As an extra twist to the competition, even the contestants who don’t win in their home cities will still have a chance to compete in the finals – viewers across the country will be able to vote for their favorite among the performers who didn’t make the first cut, and the contestant with the most votes will go on to the finals.

After six episodes in six different cities, each of the local winners and the fan favorite will battle it out on stage over the course of the final three live episodes until only one contestant remains — the vocalist left standing at the end will be rewarded a recording contract with Atlantic Records and the chance to open for one of the superstar icons.

From executive producers Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser”), hip-hop icon Queen Latifah, and Shakim Compere, THE NEXT is produced by Raquel Productions Inc., in association with 25/7 Productions, LLC and Flavor Unit Entertainment, Inc.

THIRTEEN MODEL HOPEFULS ANNOUNCED FOR THE FIRST-EVER
“AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL: COLLEGE EDITION”
PREMIERING FRIDAY, AUGUST 24

Models Compete for a Career-Launching Prize Package That Includes
Nylon Magazine, Nine West and Smashbox Cosmetics

July 30, 2012 (Burbank, Calif.) ─ The latest edition of “America’s Next Top Model,” created and hosted by Tyra Banks, returns with the first-ever “College Edition” on Friday, August 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) on The CW.

Thirteen participants from all walks of life and learning institutions, from universities to trade schools, will battle it out to earn the prestigious title of “America’s Next Top Model” and compete for a career-launching prize package that includes a fashion feature in Nylon Magazine, as well as $100,000 cash and campaigns with Nine West and Smashbox Cosmetics, in addition to a modeling contract with LA/NY Models and being named the face of the “America’s Next Top Model” perfume Dream Come True.

“America’s Next Top Model” is bringing on new, top fashion talent this cycle.  In addition to famed stylist Johnny Wujek as photo shoot creative consultant, the show is also introducing its first-ever social media correspondent, top fashion blogger Bryanboy.  Bryanboy will use his extensive knowledge of both fashion and social media to mentor the models and highlight the scores, comments and video messages from the viewers that will be revealed in the show during judging.  Also lending his expertise to the show this cycle for multiple episodes will be dancer and choreographer Jontè, who will work with the models as the movement mentor.  He will be tasked with helping the women bring out their charisma in the various challenges and photo shoots.

In addition to the panel of judges, which includes Banks, fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone, and new judge, former boxer and international male supermodel Rob Evans, fan voting will play a factor in who stays and who goes in the competition.   Over the course of production, fans had numerous opportunities each week to vote online, through social media and via mobile, to choose their favorite contestants based on photo shoots taken during production.  These scores were added to scores from Banks and the judges to help determine who was eliminated throughout the cycle.  Also, in a new twist, the girls who have already been eliminated were given the opportunity to return to the competition via votes on their photo shoot pictures, which allowed the audience the chance to save their favorite model.  Fans will have to tune in to see how their votes impacted the competition when the show returns Friday, August 24th.
