November 9, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW picked up a full season of its freshman hit drama BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST stars Kristin Kreuk (“Smallville,” “Chuck”) as Catherine, Jay Ryan (“Terra Nova”) as Vincent, Max Brown (“The Tudors,” “MI-5”) as Evan, Nina Lisandrello (“Nurse Jackie”) as Tess, Nicole Gale Anderson (“Make It or Break It”) as Heather, Austin Basis (“Life Unexpected”) as J.T., and Brian White (“The Shield,” “The Cabin in the Woods”) as Joe.

Last night’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was up 9% in total viewers versus last week, and also grew in all key adult demos week to week. Season to date, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is averaging 2.4 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among women 18-34, and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-34, in most current Nielsen data.

November 8, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW today announced that the new 1980s-era drama, THE CARRIE DIARIES, will have its series premiere on Monday, January 14 (8:00-9:00p.m. ET).

That same night, 90210 will slide to its new 9:00-10:00 p.m. timeslot on Monday.  The week of January 14 will also see the majority of The CW’s primetime series return from the holiday break with all-new original episodes.

THE CARRIE DIARIES takes place in 1984, where life is not easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw.  Since their mother passed away, Carrie’s younger sister Dorrit is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own.  Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse, sarcastic and self-assured Maggie and sensitive Walt – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles.  And even though the arrival of a sexy new transfer student named Sebastian brings some excitement to Carrie’s world, she is struggling to move on from her grief.  So when Tom offers Carrie the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan, she leaps at the chance.  Carrie’s eyes are opened wide at the glamour and grit of New York City – and when she meets Larissa, the style editor for Interview magazine, she’s inspired by the club culture and unique individuals that make up Larissa’s world.  Carrie’s friends and family may have a big place in her heart, but she’s fallen in love for the first time with the most important man in her life – Manhattan.

THE CW TO BROADCAST “THE 18TH ANNUAL CRITICS’ CHOICE MOVIE AWARDS” LIVE ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2013

The CW Television Network will broadcast “The 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards” live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., on Thursday, January 10, 2013 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET), it was announced today by Joey Berlin, President of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and Thom Sherman, Executive Vice President, Development, The CW.

”The BFCA is thrilled that our awards show has an exciting new broadcast partner that reaches the same audience that most frequently goes to the movies and will most enjoy our glamorous Hollywood party,” says Berlin.  “The CW is breaking out this fall and we expect `The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ to help continue the network’s surge.  With our big event falling on the very day that Oscar nominations are announced, we know everyone is going to be watching our star-studded celebration of the biggest and best movies of the year.”

Nominees for the 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will be announced on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

The awards are bestowed annually by the BFCA to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The BFCA is the largest film critics’ organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 270 television, radio and online critics.  BFCA members are the primary source of information for today’s film going public.  The very first opinion a moviegoer hears about new releases at the multiplex or the art house usually comes from one of its members.

Since its inception in 1995, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards has been a must-attend bellwether event of the movie awards season.  Among the attendees at last year’s show were George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron, Bob Dylan, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.  Historically, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.

THE CW ORDERS CYCLE 20 OF “AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL”

For the First Time, Male Models Will Also Compete for the Title of “America’s Next Top Model”

The CW Network has ordered Cycle 20 of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.  As part of The CW’s on-going strategy to increase the amount of original summer programming on the network, Cycle 20 will debut in summer 2013 with a specific premiere date to be announced at a later time.

In Cycle 20, for the first time, male models will be added to the group of contestants competing for the title of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, and will move into the models’ house alongside the women. Also in Cycle 20, viewers will continue to have a direct impact on the competition by voting for their favorite models though social media, helping decide who gets eliminated and who stays in the running to becoming AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment in association with The Tyra Banks Company.  The executive producers are Ken Mok (“Making the Band”), Tyra Banks and Laura Fuest Silva.  The series was created by Tyra Banks and developed by Mok and Kenya Barris.  Tyra Banks also hosts the series, which is currently airing its 19th cycle in the United States. The CW Network announced the first group of musical acts that are slated to appear in the two-hour IHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL special, which will kick off the network’s fall season on Monday, October 1, (8:00-10:00pm, ET).

The CW’s telecast of the iHeartRadio concert extravaganza will feature a line-up of today’s hottest artists, including No Doubt, P!nk, Rihanna, Pitbull, Taylor Swift, Usher, Mary J. Blige and Prince, along with many others. Additionally, Korean and Internet pop sensation Psy will perform his “Gangnam Style” viral song and dance onstage.

Cast members from The CW’s series, including Nina Dobrev of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES will be on hand to help get the party started.

September 27, 2012 (Burbank, CA) ─ The CW will let viewers scrub in early for an online screening of the EMILY OWENS, M.D premiere.   Beginning October 1 through October 14, the complete first episode of EMILY OWENS, M.D. will be available to stream on CWTV.com, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Hulu, on the CW mobile and tablet apps, and as a free iTunes download.

EMILY OWENS, M.D., starring Mamie Gummer as a surgical intern who discovers, much to her dismay, that working in a hospital feels an awful lot like high school, takes up residency Tuesday, October 16, 9:00-10:00 pm ET on The CW.
