Gossip Girl Executive Producers Joshua Safran and Stephanie Savage Answer Questions about the 100th Episode

Gossip Girl Executive Producers Joshua Safran and Stephanie Savage answered fan questions about the 100th episode today at The CW Network:

How much effort went into deciding Blair’s wedding dress and party setup?

The crew has essentially been planning her wedding since the Pilot. There was a ton of detailed work that went into creating this picture-perfect celebration. We always wanted to use a Vera Wang dress since she is such a staple of New York fashion.

Were any alternate scenes filmed for the episode / has it been hard to keep the outcome a secret?

We were very careful with regards to filming and utilizing extras for the episode. We’d bring them in for a bit and ask them to leave for plot revealing scenes. We wanted to tease a bit with her dress pictures, but that’s about it.

Can you touch on reaching the 100th episode milestone?

In this industry it’s very tough to reach 100 episodes. A show is basically considered a real success when it gets there, so it was a very big deal that we made it. We are extremely proud.

Did you include many references to the Pilot episode?

Yes, we went back and utilized certain aspects of the Pilot that we thought true fans would get a kick out of. They are subtle, but help make the episode richer with content.

Why is the priest so invested in the outcome of the wedding?

He is striving to receive royal attention. He wants the ear of the royal family and to strengthen his standing within the Church.

Will Diana be making a comeback / is their potentially love on the horizon for Nate?

Diana will definitely be coming back. Nate is at a place in his life where he has been treated poorly by both family and friends. He’ll be able to use this when meeting the right person. That’s all we’ll say.
