THE CW NETWORK ANNOUNCES FALL PREMIERE DATES

AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 15 AND NEW DRAMA HELLCATS KICK-OFF THE CW’S FIFTH BROADCAST SEASON ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NIKITA TO PREMIERE FOLLOWING HIT THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ON SEPTEMBER 9

The CW Network has set its fall premiere schedule, launching its fifth broadcast season with 10 hours of original programming of returning favorites and two new series.

On Wednesday, September 8, Cycle 15 of the hit reality series AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) kicks-off the 2010-2011 season, followed by the series premiere of new drama HELLCATS (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). HELLCATS is a pumped-up drama about a young pre-law student (Aly Michalka, “Bandslam”) whose world is turned upside-down when she loses her scholarship and has to join the college’s competitive cheerleading squad. This fun, energetic series is a behind-the-scenes look at the drama, politics and pressure surrounding the football program at a Southern university. Ashley Tisdale (“High School Musical”) also stars as a young woman who is totally committed to the cheerleading squad to realize her dreams.

On Thursday, September 9, the network’s #1 show, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) returns for a second season and leads into new action-drama series NIKITA (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). NIKITA stars international action-film star and martial arts expert Maggie Q (“Mission Impossible III”) in the title role as a spy and assassin for a top secret U.S. government agency, who rebels against the system that created her and will stop at nothing to bring their powerful operation to an end.

On Monday, September 13, viewers will get the best of both coasts when the third season premiere of 90210 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) leads into the season four premiere of GOSSIP GIRL (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

On Tuesday, September 14, two fan favorites go back-to-back when season eight of ONE TREE HILL (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) leads into the second season of LIFE UNEXPECTED (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

On Friday, September 24, SMALLVILLE (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) kicks-off its tenth and final season with the non-stop action and classic DC Comics characters viewers love, followed by the sixth season of SUPERNATURAL (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

GHOSTFACERS_Cast

“Ghostfacers” – the new original shortform series/brand extension of the hit CW/Warner Bros. Television action-drama SUPERNATURAL – is now available on TheWB.com. The  “Ghostfacers” digital series stars AJ Buckley and Travis Wester as the world’s greatest self-proclaimed ghost hunters on a quest for the paranormal.

Each of the ten episodes is approximately three to four minutes in length.

“Ghostfacers” follows a team of fearless and sometimes comical “professional” ghost hunters who investigate other-worldly sightings and record their own adventures in documentary-style episodes. In this first installment of the new series, the Ghostfacers team investigates the haunting of a local theatre by the spirit of a young starlet – played by Kelly Carlson (“Nip/Tuck”) – who, according to legend, was murdered in front of her dressing room mirror.

Fans hungry for more “Ghostfacers” mythology can find additional images, character bios and video on the “Ghostfacers” website.

In addition to Carlson guest starring, “Ghostfacers” stars AJ Buckley (SUPERNATURAL, “CSI: NY,” “Skateland”) as Ed, the team’s enthusiastic leader. Travis Wester (SUPERNATURAL, “Euro Trip,” “Cold Case”) stars as Harry, the co-founder of the team and tactical specialist. Brittany Ishibashi (SUPERNATURAL, “Notes From the Underbelly”) is Maggie, Ed’s adopted sister and the team’s tech-genius. Austin Basis (LIFE UNEXPECTED, “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “NCIS”) stars as Kenny Spruce, the videographer and occasional shaman.

From Wonderland Sound and Vision (SUPERNATURAL, “Chuck,” “Sorority Forever”) in association with Studio 2.0, “Ghostfacers” is executive produced by McG, Peter Johnson, Jeff Grosvenor, Eric Kripke and Phil Sgriccia. The series is written by AJ Buckley, Patrick J. Doody, Chris Valenziano and Travis Wester. “Ghostfacers” characters were created for SUPERNATURAL by Trey Callaway and first appeared in the first season episode ‘Hell House.’ The Ghostfacers concept was later expanded upon by SUPERNATURAL executive producer and writer Ben Edlund in the third season episode, ‘Ghostfacers.’

LET THE TRANSFORMATIONS BEGIN: “PLAIN JANE” PREMIERES WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, ON THE CW

The CW has announced the premiere of the new life-changing reality series, PLAIN JANE, on Wednesday, July 28 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

The series is hosted by British fashion expert Louise Roe, who also starred in “Fashion Police: The 2009 Grammy Awards.”  In each episode, Roe will use her expertise to transform one woman from the inside out to reveal a brand new woman.  Each of the six episodes will feature a new “Jane” searching for the change of a lifetime.  The “Jane” of the week will receive a head-to-toe style transformation, including a new wardrobe and confidence-building exercises.

PLAIN JANE goes beyond outward appearances to give each woman the chance to make her romantic dreams come true as well.  Once the transformation is complete, the formerly plain “Jane” will surprise her unsuspecting crush with her new look and reveal her true feelings to him.  A love connection is – or isn’t – made.

Hosted by Louise Roe, PLAIN JANE is executive produced by Allison Grodner (“Big Brother”), Rich Meehan (“Big Brother”) and Amy Palmer (“You’re Cut Off”) for Fly on the Wall Entertainment.  The series is distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
