Read a very nice piece LIFE UNEXPECTED at The Huffington Post, calling the show “a quiet freshman gem.” An excerpt:
How did a family-centered drama series as uniquely unassuming and gently appealing as The CW’s Life Unexpected even make it to broadcast television? Considering the state of the medium, the arrival this season of an entertaining hour drama that does not revolve around doctors, lawyers, detectives, government agents, supernatural beings or sex-crazed teenagers is a miraculous circumstance all its own.

Freshman Hit “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “90210,” “Supernatural” and “America’s Next Top Model” To Return Next Season
The CW Network has given early pickups to five series for next season, including four signature dramas and the reality hit AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. All five shows will return in Fall 2010.
The series receiving early renewals include this season’s breakout hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, The CW’s most-watched show (4.6 million viewers) and the network’s number one show among adults 18-34 (2.5/8). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES premiere generated the largest audience in network history for a series debut (5.7 million total viewers). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has improved The CW’s performance Thursday at 8:00 p.m. by 114% among women 18-34 this season. The network also renewed fan favorite SUPERNATURAL, which will enter its sixth season next year. SUPERNATURAL has one of the most loyal audiences of any show on television and does heroic work in a perennially tough time period. It has improved over last season among women and adults 18-34 (29% and 8%, respectively) this season, a remarkable accomplishment for a fifth-year show.
Also given early pickups for next season are The CW’s Monday night sensation GOSSIP GIRL,which is The CW’s number one show among its target demographic of women 18-34, and Tuesday’s trend-setting drama, 90210, which sees some of TV’s largest percent increases from DVR playback, nearly doubling its women 18-34 live-only ratings once live+7 data is included. Wednesday anchor AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL will also be back for cycles 15 and 16 with superstar Tyra Banks and new groups of aspiring models. AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL continues to rank second in the competitive Wednesday 8:00 p.m. hour among young women 18-34 (3.4/10).
LONG-TIME JUDGE MISS J. ALEXANDER BREAKS FREE FROM THE JUDGES PANEL TO WORK WITH THE THIRTEEN NEW HOPEFULS IN A MENTORING ROLE,WEEKLY GUEST JUDGES ALSO JOIN THE PANEL
AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL welcomes one of the most influential members of the fashion world, André Leon Talley, as a new judge during cycle 14 of the hit show on The CW. Thirteen new hopefuls from across the country are given the chance to prove they have what it takes when the competition kicks off with a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, March 10 (8:00-9:30 p.m. ET).
Talley, who will join Tyra Banks, photographer Nigel Barker and a weekly guest judge on the judges’ panel, is one of the fashion industry’s most influential style-setters. Currently serving as the editor-at-large of Vogue, Talley is prominent in the world of designer fashion and has a front-row seat to runway shows all over the world.
Miss J. Alexander, long-time judge, breaks free from the judges’ desk to take on a mentoring role during challenges with the models. “After cycles of watching the girls not get it right, I thought they would benefit more from my ‘high heels’ and hands-on approach than my sitting in a chair judging their photos,” said Alexander. “And with Andre Leon Talley, this should be the best cycle yet.”
Cycle 14 welcomes a panel of rotating guest judges that include: Sally Hershberger (Salon Owner/Proprietor), Rachel Roy (Runway Fashion Designer), Sean Patterson (President of Wilhelmina Models), Dania Ramirez (CoverGirl Representative), Patricia Cleveland (First African American Supermodel), Ann Shoket (Editor in Chief of Seventeen Magazine), Whitney Port (Star of “The City,” Runway Fashion Designer), Sara Tetro (Owner of 62 Models), Sara McLeod (Actress from “Lord of the Rings”) and “Top Model” photo shoot director Jay Manuel.

An interview with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as featured in issue #14 of Supernatural Magazine.
For nine months of the year, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are possessed by supernatural entities. It’s like demons – or angels – have taken over their bodies and they are powerless to do anything but watch their days unfold through someone else’s eyes while they speak someone else’s thoughts and live someone else’s lives. Of course, those entities are just the fictional characters they play for their TV show, but when they’re Sam and Dean Winchester for “sixteen hours a day, five days a week – it’s like being in a different world,” Padalecki related. “I’m Sam Winchester more often than I’m Jared Padalecki!”
When Jared and Jensen are working those kinds of hours in the mindset of brothers who are trying to stop the apocalypse while dealing with their dysfunctional relationship and coping with the fact that the blood of all humankind could be on their hands due to the roles they played in freeing Lucifer, the enormity of it all can be rather “exhausting,” Ackles confirmed. “It’s been an exhausting season so far.”
What’s surprisingly not difficult for Ackles is having to pretend like he wants to kick Padalecki’s Sam’s ass to Hell and back. “I love it when they fight each other!” he insisted with a laugh. “In the past, Dean could never stay mad at his little brother, but this time he could because he has all the reasons in the world to be mad: his little brother caused the Apocalypse! I mean, come on!”
Padalecki agrees. “I love the conflict. Before it was like, ‘Oh, you made a deal with a demon, didn’t you?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Uh, okay. So, how long?’ ‘A year.’ ‘You suck. I’ll find a way to get you out. Hug me.’ But then the situations obviously changed, so even though the brothers still cared about each other, what Sam and Dean went through changed them both and separated them more into individuals, so their relationship got much darker. I like the dynamic of brother versus brother when they both think they’re doing the right thing for the right reasons. And I would like to see how dark Sam could get.”
Both actors don’t actually expect that things will go darker; they expect that Sam and Dean will change the destinies laid out for them in The End. “They still have their own inner demons and skeletons and secrets and all that to deal with,” Padalecki pointed out, “but I’m sure they’ll get back together and join forces somehow.” Ackles agreed, adding, “Yeah, I kinda think they’ll spend most of the rest of the season trying to fix things up and forgiving their mistakes, especially Sam, because he’s feeling guilty for Lucifer’s rising on Earth. He’s admitting his faults and trying to find redemption.”
