Last night’s People’s Choice Awards saw two big wins for The CW last night, as THE VAMPIRE DIARIES took Favorite New TV Drama, and SUPERNATURAL was voted Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show. Congratulations to both shows!
THE CW OFFERS FACEBOOK FANS A SPECIAL PREVIEW OF FIRST TEN MINUTES OF NEW DRAMA “LIFE UNEXPECTED” PRIOR TO SERIES ON-AIR DEBUT
Through Partnership with Ustream, Critically Hailed Drama Gets Sneak Peek Across All CW Facebook Pages to More Than 5.4million Registered CW Fans Beginning January 11
In an innovative digital promotional push, The CW Network announced today it will present a special sneak peek of the first ten minutes of its critically acclaimed new series LIFE UNEXPECTED for the network’s Facebook fans beginning Monday, January 11, 2010, a week prior to making its on-air debut Monday, January 18 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). To power this unique event, The CW partnered with Ustream, the leader in live video on the internet.
By utilizing the Ustream on Facebook video application, this special screening of LIFE UNEXPECTED will be offered across all of The CW’s Facebook fan pages, including the main CW page and all CW series pages, totaling more than 5.4 million fans and marking the first time a screening has taken place across multiple Facebook pages. Fans who catch the LIFE UNEXPECTED preview during the first 24 hours will be able to provide comments live as they watch the video. After the first 24-hour window, viewers will still be able to watch the sneak preview and read the commentary posted by those first day fans.
The CW’s online portal (www.cwtv.com) will embark on a heavy digital campaign promoting the Facebook screening and encouraging viewers to sign up as fans of the Life Unexpected Facebook page. The site will also host a wide variety of behind-the-scenes clips and cast interviews.
LIFE UNEXPECTED is the story of 15-year-old Lux (Britt Robertson, “Swingtown”), who, after spending her life bouncing from one foster family to another, has decided it’s time to become an emancipated minor. Her journey through the legal maze leads Lux to her biological parents, Nate “Baze” Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha, “Mad Men”) and Cate Cassidy (Shiri Appleby, “E.R.”). When a judge unexpectedly grants temporary joint custody to Baze and Cate, they agree to make a belated attempt to give Lux the family she deserves. Life Unexpected is produced by CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television in association with Mojo Films with executive producers Liz Tigelaar (“Brothers and Sisters,” “What About Brian”), Janet Leahy (“Boston Legal,” “Gilmore Girls”) and Gary Fleder (“October Road”).
