UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS/TIME-ACT MUSIC AND VERIZON WIRELESS TO PREMIERE SNEAK PEEK OF LEIGHTON MEESTER’S DEBUT VIDEO “SOMEBODY TO LOVE” DURING THE CW’S “GOSSIP GIRL”ON NOVEMBER 2nd

“Somebody To Love” Single With Robin Thicke To Be Featured In November 9th Episode Of Hit CW Show

Fans Will Be Able To Text LM To 8905 and Receive Exclusive New Edit Of ‘Somebody To Love’ Ringtone on Their Verizon Wireless Phone

Universal Republic Records/Time-Act Music and Verizon Wireless will be unveiling the first sneak peek of celebrated singer/songwriter/actress Leighton Meester’s much talked-about debut video for her new single “Somebody To Love” (featuring Robin Thicke) during the Monday, November 2nd episode (9:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT) of her hit CW drama GOSSIP GIRL. The new single will also be featured the following week during the November 9th episode of the top-rated drama, with the sultry full-length video (also showcasing singer Robin Thicke) to be launched on CWTV.com immediately after its broadcast on The CW Network.

A special new edit of the ringtone for “Somebody To Love” will also be made available exclusively to Verizon Wireless customers beginning on November 9th. Fans will be able to text LM to 8905 to receive the ringtone on their Verizon Wireless phone.
Leighton will also be the featured artist on the “Gossip Girl” music page of CWTV.com (CWTV.com/ggmusic). GOSSIP GIRL-centric social networking sites will also be plugged into the buzz surrounding “Somebody To Love,” featuring Tweets, Facebook updates, MySpace alerts and more, as well as serving up multiple online links to the steamy video.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Zoe Cassavetes, the clip was shot in New York City, embodying a noir-ish overtone that Leighton says “creates a different ambiance, which is what we were going for. It is fun, yet laid back and kind of very sexy, actually.” The single, “Somebody To Love,” was released to radio in mid-October and is enjoying great support by multiple major stations across the U.S.

Possessing a self-described “passion for music” for as long as she can remember, the multi-talented star has been recording the new album in New York City with a host of talented collaborators, writers and producers, including Stuart Price (Madonna) and Mike Caren (Flo Rida), among others.

The versatile artist has built up a solid resume of singing/acting performances the past few years, including singing duet with the legendary Tony Bennett on the hit HBO series “Entourage.” Citing diverse musical influences such as M.I.A. and Gwen Stefani, she has hinted many of the new songs on her debut effort favor a distinct cutting edge.

Meester, who has built a global following thanks to her acclaimed portrayal of the character Blair Waldorf in GOSSIP GIRL, will be seen on the big screen starring in the Sony Screen Gems thriller `The Roommate,’ with Minka Kelly in October 2010, and the movie `Date Night’ with Tina Fey and Steve Carell in April 2010.
